This is an ongoing series of group discussions intended to bring us into direct connection with a vast range of ancient spiritual texts and modern literary expressions of living truth.  Discussions will feature group readings, personal reflections, and interpersonal dialogue relating to a specific chapter from whatever the current book selection might be (see below).

These sessions will be facilitated by Bradley Bemis, a deeply conscious Florida-based author, speaker and guide who freely shares his ongoing insights into the nature of Self-realization, non-dual reality, and living an awakened life. You can learn more about Bradley and what he shares at http://www.awakeningintolife.com.

For the time being – and depending on the size of the group – Bradley will be holding these sessions in his apartment home in the Waterford Lakes area.  There is room for about 10-12 people to fit comfortably – but you are advised to bring a cushion or chair to sit on, as furniture seating is somewhat limited.  If we do find ourselves over-booked, or feeling a bit too crowded, we may decide to move outside, into one of the common areas.  If you get cold easily, it may be advisable to bring a sweater or jacket just in case.

The apartment is located in the Camden Waterford Lakes complex; building 1325, Apartment 307.  In order to find the entrance, it may be easier to use the address of the main building, which is 1301 Waterford Oak Drive – and can be accessed off of Waterford Lakes Parkway.  It is the last apartment complex before you hit Woodbury Road.  There is a large sign out front that reads “Camden Waterford Lakes”.  Just drive up to the gate (more below).

When arriving at the gate, please enter through the middle lane, punch in the code ‘152’, press ‘call’, and you will be let in as soon as I am notified by phone.  Again, if you run into problems, please just call.  Some people are put off by the idea of going to someone’s personal home – especially when gates and codes are involved. Please don’t be discouraged by this – we really do want people to come and attend.  It’s a great forum with some really wise, very awake, and deeply aware participants.

The building is about half way down into the complex, on the right hand side.  It’s building ‘1325’ – you can easily see the building numbers on each building, so just keep coming down until you find the right one.  You may park in any of the uncovered spaces that are available.  Come on up and just let yourself in – there will be a sign on the door so you know you’re in the right place.  Please note that you’ll be asked to take off your shoes in the foyer area – so be sure to wear socks you’re not afraid to be seen in  ;-).

These discussion groups take place every Monday night, beginning at 7pm and ending around 9pm – but folks are welcome to come early and to stay late if additional dialogue is of interest.  There is no charge for these meetups, as Bradley does everything for free – but there will be a small basket in the back for anyone who cares to make a donation to help cover the snacks that are offered.  This is completely optional and should not be a barrier to coming and sharing your own wisdom with the group.  The only ground rules are open-minded, non-judgmental, loving-kindness, patience, and respect towards all participants; emphasizing the understanding that we are all learning, growing and maturing our spiritual perspectives together as a whole.

If you need additional information or would like to speak to Bradley beforehand to get a better understanding of these events and what to expect, please go to the Contact page of this website.

First book for review and discussion: The Tao Te Ching: A New English Version by Stephen Mitchell.  The Tao Te Ching is an ancient Chinese text written by the mystic Lao Tzu, presumably between 550 and 450 BCE.  It is a beautifully articulated expression of the Great Way; simple, powerful, and direct.  Within the folds of its pages are great mysteries and riddles, waiting to be explored by those seekers of Truth who are brave enough to follow it, wherever it leads.  The version offered by Stephen Mitchell is an updated and more modern interpretation that helps bring the text into a current day context, without fumbling the artistry of the original author.  Because the chapters are short and focused, we will go through three to five each night, slowly, one at a time, in group discussion – and then see where we are in terms of time and interest.  Each week we will work with a pace of three to five chapters, unless the group decides otherwise.

Note: No previous involvement with the group is required to come and attend – every chapter really stands on its own as an independent teaching of ancient wisdom.  It’s in the dialogue about what we read that the material really comes alive… and anyone can participate at any time.

Once we’ve finished the Tao Te Ching, other great books that we might read together include: The Bhagavad Gita, I AM THAT, The Gnostic Gospels, What the Buddha taught, and many others…

Hope to see you there…
